Moving followers from social media to personal platforms is crucial because creators don't own their social media following.

Transitioning followers to platforms like Discord or Telegram ensures more control over communication.

He highlights how Meerkat, a video streaming platform, was driven out of business when X launched Periscope. This example shows the risk of relying solely on public platforms.

Recently, influencers who aren't celebrities have seen their reach diminish as social media platforms adopted TikTok's interest-based algorithm.

EP moves his audience from X to Telegram.

He has 13.5k followers on X and 4,916 subscribers on Telegram.

This strategy is beneficial if his accounts get banned or he wants to start a new account. His superfans would quickly follow him through private channels.

Private channels like messengers boast an open rate of over 80%, which is much higher than public platforms.

2. Guillaume - @iamgdsa

Guillaume follows a similar strategy.

He has 11.8k followers on X and 1,121 subscribers on Telegram, where he shares content that isn't suitable for public sharing on X.

For example, X has banned links to Blackhatworld, a blackhat site.

3. Arib Khan - @aribk24

Arib Khan also moves his followers but uses Discord instead of Telegram.

He has 22.6k followers on X and funnels them to his Discord, which has 5,779 members.

Arib uses his Discord to hype his tweets on X, increasing their reach through a trick known as CTR Manipulation.

However, such tricks are platform-specific and don't work on sites like Hacker News. One workaround to avoid penalization through direct linking is to post a direct link to the site (eg. x.com/@aribk24) and let your community find the post via search or CTRL+F (eg. 100k mrr) to like your specific post.
