Hey,

The Spells Master is back!

Welcome to the 13th issue.

Today's topics:

  1. Monster Hammering Links

  2. A design tool with AI inside

  3. One recommended video on How To Get Your Ideas To Spread

Monster Hammering Links is not a real term (yet) but a made up term by Carrie Rose.

It simply means brands are aggressively building backlinks to their own website to rank higher in SERP's (Search Engine Results Page) and make more money from it.

These brands use multiple agencies to build links to their site, sometimes 10+ agencies.

Its a legit way to grow your organic rankings as fast as possible.

Some of these sites are building 6000 domains per year and getting a 37x ROI on their initial investment.

This is done in different niches from Education to Comparison Sites, all the way, to Finance.

The Education site is paying Β£50k per month on PR to building the links.

It has 12,000 new domains in the past 24 months with 80% do-follow links which pass on the SEO juice from a high-authority site to their own site.

They have their own sites internally linked to other pages to pass on the SEO juice.

Their closest competitor only has 1000 pages while they now have 22,000 pages.

Their revenue is $10.2m per year with only $480k spent on links.

A whopping 21x return.

These are all diverse links from different sites possibly in different niches to get all the SEO juice.

At the end of the day, SEO is a blackhat game.

You have to build links, post on socials, and monster hammer links like this to get yourself ranking.

You can choose not to play the AI game with SEO but you'll produce 10x less output than those who use AI.

In the end, Google only understands keywords. It doesn't understand total meaning of a sentence. The closest it can do is vector search to find synonyms.

If you use AI correctly, there's no way it won't rank on Google. The same goes for Monster Hammering Links.

Google won't have an upper limit on adding links to your site because that's how viral apps or products would rank.

Remember the time when Barbie launched, every news article probably wrote an article on it.

The people at Google aren't monitoring all kinds of events to stop them from ranking if its a global phenomenon like they have an upper limit (at 50 emails per day per domain) on sending cold emails on Gmail.

This is a great idea if you have the budget for it ($50,000 per month) and already have a product that you know converts well.

Note that not all agencies are good so you might need to burn money while finding a good one.

Or just hire Carrie Rose's agency Rise at Seven if you've got the budget for it as she is the best in the game.

Krea AI might be a legit competitor to Midjourney.

For starters, Midjourney only works on Discord. Their website is still in Beta.

Meanwhile, Krea has some amazing things in store.

I specifically like this feature where you combine 2 things and blend into one image like the man on fire:

This kind of stuff is epic for Thumbnail Creation.

Multi-image prompt when done right can be so cool. This can be used in so many epic ways.

Seth Godin did this TED Talk 16 years ago but its much more relevant now than it was then.

This is still one of the best of his videos as the concept of Purple Cow is much needed now if you want to stand out.

The World's Best Minds are working on hijacking people's attention through Reels and Tiktoks of the world.

If you want their attention, you need to do something beyond the ordinary.

We have too many options now but way too little time.

To stand out, you need to do something weird or out of the box.

Seth Godin tells you how.

Tweet of the day

You can either have an easy life or an epic story. Choose.

Rabbit Holes

  1. How to make $1m per year by owning 5 newsletters - Alex Garcia of Marketing Examined has a great playbook on Media Company. This video explains it all.

  2. The Day You Became A Better Writer - Scott Adams is one of my favorite writers and thinkers. This short blog should tell you why. Its a writing masterclass in <300 words.

  3. We Don’t Sell Saddles Here - This post was written 10 years ago before Slack existed. Slack would be launched 7 months later. This was written to inspire the team who went onto launch an epic marketing campaign. 10 years later, Slack is everywhere despite being super expensive.
