We live in the Attention Economy.

The ones who have the attention are bound to make a lot of money with a huge caveat of product-audience fit.

One such business exploded overnight thanks to an influencer with a massive audience.

My First Million (MFM) is a podcast that covers businesses making money. Sometimes they cover trends, sometimes businesses, and sometimes they have guests.

All kinds of Founders, Entrepreneurs, and VCs listen to it. It has over 25M+ downloads per year.

One of the hosts Shaan Puri bought a chunk of a company called Shepherd.

It is a headhunter agency that finds top overseas talent for your company that costs <80% of US employees.

Shepherd saves a ton of money. You can have 10 overseas employees working for the equivalent of 1 US employee.

Shaan didn't overly promote Shepherd on the podcast.

He just added a few links in the description of every episode.

Compared to Sam Parr, the other host of MFM, Shaan has just 1 CTA to promote.

Exactly, 1 year ago he bought a chunk of Shepherd and it got a private buyout at a $52M valuation now.

In 1 year, they 3x'd the revenue, 3x'd the profit, and hired key players like CEO, COO, CRO to get it to the next level.

Shaan personally brought in ~50% of all new customers. And in doing so, got the company to the next level by getting $35M in 12 months.

Now, Shepherd had another influencer like The Sweaty Startup Guy Nick Huber too who was a key player in its growth.

But a high-value podcast with an audience of Founders that gets ~25M downloads per year was the key to exploding it to the next level.

There are 10s of similar companies offering overseas employees for 10x cheaper than US employees but only one exploded. Their strategy? A super influencer with actual influence and a product-audience fit.

He spends $10,000-$15,000 per month on hotels. Probably more.

He sends receipts to get a tax cut as a business owner.

This app does exactly that without the hassle of an accountant doing the work.

Just take a pic and forget about it.

I love how people use AI to make useful products like this.

Very easy to build but solves an important problem for business people.
