Wordle went viral last year. Everyone on X was sharing it like crazy. It was such a unique marketing strategy.

It was so good that it got featured on X's Marketing Blog. It features some incredible Trendjacking done by brands like IKEA and Child Poverty Action Group.

But Wordle was a mobile app. It didn't have a web version. It also had set limits per day.

So a billionaire Dharmesh Shah took matter in his own hands and launched WordPlay.

This domain name was a genius move. Its easy to pronounce and remember. More easier than Wordle itself as WordPlay (word and play) are actual words unlike a made-up word like Wordle.

WordPlay also has Wordle in the title making it easier to rank when someone searches for "word play" or "wordle" on Google.

Fun fact: It ranks above the Wikipedia page of Word play itself.

Dharmesh Shah knows the power of good domain names so he knew what he was doing with WordPlay.

A simple word game which is a clone of a Viral App got him 16 million users and 150 million games played.

The domain name was easy, memorable, and fun.

This was a $90k per month business with MediaVine with the amount of traffic it has.

And he built it in 48 hours.

The framework is simple here:

  1. Find a viral app on App Store. Right now, Point and Learn AI apps are going viral that do your homework for you.

Email them a few tips using AI and ask them to check the Pro plan.

  2. Do the same on TikTok, Instagram, and X. All are filled with D2C people. Just use relevant tools for automation like Cold DMs for Instagram and Drippi AI for X. For TikTok, its hard but there are solutions out there which you can try on sock accounts so your main doesn't get banned. In any case, automation should only be done on sock accounts. Never risk your main account.
