GoDaddy's Super Bowl Spa Ad

Easiest way to get attention on the internet is to put a hot girl in your marketing. It works because majority of working population is male.

And if its a new medium that is undersaturated, then it is bound to blow up.

For example, candy.ai and kupid.ai blew up when AI came in to the foray. The market is big enough for them to be a billion-dollar business.

When AR/VR gets mainstream, there will be an app that will blow based on the same principles. Its just the nature of the game.

GoDaddy used this simple trick to its advantage.

When the internet was a new thing in pop culture, they created a Spa Ad featuring Hot Girls during SuperBowl XLIV.

The ad was a deceptive bait and switch but it created an open loop for people to check out the site.

It worked because SuperBowl Ads reach millions of viewers so it was worth the expensive price it takes to create.

The audience was definitely the perfect demographic for the ad to resonate.

The ads were risqué and offensive to women but triggering a certain section of the population is a good way to get engagement.

If you want to win everyone, it is definitely not the recommended way to go.

A tool to Edit Photos with AI

Photoroom is a tool to edit photos with AI.

It lets you erase any background, remove and replace objects in a swipe, or edit hundreds of photos in seconds.

They are on a $50M ARR runrate. Must be doing something right.

This video covers the 5 prompting principles that guarantee superior AI results.

These principles are timeless. Meaning they worked for GPT-3, they will work for GPT-4, and they will work for GPT-5. So once you learn these tricks, you can get edge over other people using AI but don't know these principles.

Rabbit Holes

  1. How to create landing pages from screenshots using Claude's Artifacts - Screenshots have never been so useful than when talking with AI. I bet the apps that allow you to perform screenshots in an easy way like Cleanshot have gone up in value. AI will enable entirely new paradigms that never were possible before.

  2. a16z's Consumer Abundance Doc - Incredible presentation by a16z on how AI will transform consumer technology. Their formula is Weird x Working. If you are building a consumer AI app, definitely give it a read.

  3. Acquiring a multi-million dollar SaaS business - Going from 0 to 1 is 100x harder than 1 to 100. That's why entrepreneurs with extra money in the bank buy startups rather than creating them from scratch.
