Tbh Skincare Out-Trolling The Trolls

Tbh Skincare is an Australian Skincare Company launched in 2020. They went from $10k/month to $900k/month in its first 18 months. They sold 1.5m of skincare products in 2022.

It recently went viral due to one tweet dunking on them.

Most comments on this video labeled it as "try not to cringe (impossible)", "women belong to the kitchen", "bring back gender pay gap", etc...

Tbh Skincare Trolled By Men

Fun fact: This isn't the video that started the trend. They were just following a TikTok Trend called Boots and a Slick Back Bun of people singing about themselves in a circle, following the same rhythm.

Everyone trolling the video by dunking on them gave them a massive engagement and probably a lot of free press.

What everyone missed in these videos is that their target audience is 14-22 year old girls. So it makes sense to make such cringy videos as that's what connects with them.

Its the difference between WWE and UFC.

UFC guys don't wanna watch a WWE fight because WWE fights aren't real. They are staged.

But you don't get epic storylines in UFC like this one which can only happen in a WWE scenario. The audience expectations is totally different for both.

After all, one man's cringe is another man's gold.

Anyways, these women got 1000s of men into dunking on them while doing their job for them while making them all so popular on all of social media while giving them yet another piece of content.

They got 41.7m views on just a single tweet. There's countless Instagram pages and X accounts trolling them and giving them massive amounts of coverage. It should've crossed 100m+ views easily and 2x'd their sales in the smallest amount of time.

But even if you didn't like their initial post and found it cringe, you can't not laugh at this.

That's grade A-level trolling and it makes for a good story for journalists giving them even more backlinks and sales.

A software that lets you have a Private Cold Email Infrastructure Sorted In Minutes

Infraforge AI gives you Private Cold Email Infrastructure In Minutes.

Every time something gets too popular, the platforms allowing it start putting out restrictions. Cold Email has gotten too popular now. There are heavy restrictions now to keep them out of people's emails but private infrastructure is where you don't suffer from these restrictions. They aren't new but they cost more but since you get private infrastructure, you get to reach them more.

This video covers the reason why you don't have good ideas.

Rabbit Holes

  1. How Jay Clouse made $600k in 2023 from The Creator Economy - "People don’t understand they need to be poor for 1000 days. Our basic hypothesis: you’ll be doing worse than you were at your job for 1000 days after you start your muse business. I’ve seen it happen a bunch of times. For many of us it’s been almost exactly those 1000 days it took for us to get back to the level of income we enjoyed in our corporate days." ~ Jay Clouse. It takes a lot of effort to get fast results. I don't agree that you need to be poor for 1000 days or you need 10,000 hours if you can take a lot of pain fast and test relentlessly, this process becomes much easier. YC batch graduates do it in <3 months. They aren't special species.

  2. Fear of bad ideas - The reason most people don't put their thoughts on the internet is because of fear of looking stupid. "The problem is that you can't have good ideas unless you're willing to generate a lot of bad ones." ~ Seth Godin

  3. “Anyone can start a Groupon!” and other startup myths - "If you think about it, this is one of the key bottlenecks to getting a Groupon clone actually started- if you want to build a list of 100,000 users, that’s actually going to cost you $3M right off the bat." ~ Andrew Chen. This took me a long time to learn. There are certain startups that can only be started in a particular period of time. You can't start Facebook now. EU will kill you with their data privacy laws. There was a YouTube before YouTube but it didn't work because video streaming wasn't mainstream/cheap before YouTube came on the scene.
