Low Hanging Fruits: Startup Ideas

Some ideas take years to develop and fail, while others take days and make millions. The latter are known as low hanging ideas.

1. $100m+ per year company building Animal Identifiers

Next Vision Limited (also known as Glority Global Group) is a company building Animal Identifiers like Picture Insect, Picture Fish, Picture Bird, Picture Mushroom, and Picture Animal.

Note that the Plant Identifier launched around 2015 but they did launch the same app in a few different niches from 2019 to 2022 while making a few millions from it.

A comment I found insightful on that thread:

"Why would anyone ever pay for an app that does what google does for free? A teacher of mine once remarked “if you don’t sell to losers you miss 75% of the market“ and I think he was right."

2. Localization by Mr.Beast

Mr.Beast dubbed his English videos into Spanish and Hindi, gaining millions of additional views while keeping the same thumbnails and using dubbing artists.

Spanish (487 million speakers) and Hindi (345 million speakers) languages have massive audience.

3. Pally's Caption Generator

Pally, a social media post scheduler, built an Instagram Caption Generator targeting the keyword "caption generator."

It took a few hours to build and attracts around 3,000 people per day.

4. Wordle's Copy To Clipboard Feature

Wordle's entire distribution strategy relied on its "Copy To Clipboard" feature.

When users tapped "Share," a toast appeared saying "Copied results to clipboard," allowing easy sharing on messenger apps and social media.

Without this feature, Wordle wouldn't have sold for $7 million to NYT.

Low hanging fruits are ideas that take less effort to build and generate significant sales. Now go find more low effort ideas.

A tool to Search The Best Content On The Web Using AI

Exa AI is a search engine for AI, like Google for AI.

You can now build your own Perplexity in 8 minutes using Exa AI.

There are 100s of niche startups that can be built on top of Exa alone.

Remember, consumers only care if it solves their problem, not if it's a wrapper.

This video reveals a legit insider trading secret.

These are the kinds of things you don't know you don't know because you're not well-versed in that domain.

A Redditor commmented this recently:

"We are using AI for direct response ads. Here's the result. Cut time to product an ad unit from 3 days to 1 hour. Cut cost from $150 average per ad unit to $15. Dropped cost per lead in half. Considering all of the above we are generating great return and able to implement much faster than our competitors."

Loom knows how to use AI in its products. You record a video with Loom & it automatically converts into a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP.)

And it only costs $5/month.

Millions of businesses use Loom so this simple feature single-handedly increased their bottom-line by millions. Yet another low-effort idea.

Rabbit Holes

  1. You don’t need a startup advisor. You just need to do 1 of these 5 things. - The #1 advice by any successful founder boils down to narrowing the focus and increasing the quality. Very few actually follow through with this advice. But if you follow this advice, you get to enjoy the magic of Compound Interest. "Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it … he who doesn’t … pays it." ~ Albert Einstein. Notice how the founders who keep building new startups expend more effort. In the end, 0 to 1 is much harder than 1 to 100 across domains.

  2. Top 21 TikTok Advertising Examples by Brands (Must-see content) - These brands are killing it on TikTok.

  3. Knowing which screw to turn - Smart founders are riding the AI wave to make their millions. Game selection still remains the #1 skill.
